History:
Founded in 1966 and incorporated in 1978, Prescott
Valley lies at the foot of Glassford Hill, a
long-extinct volcano. In the 1880’s Glassford Hill,
named after Colonel William A. Glassford, was used as
one of several U.S. Calvary heliograph stations located
throughout Arizona. Heliograph stations incorporated
mirrors used to reflect Morse code to one another.
Meanwhile, the Fain family, originally from Kentucky,
settled in the Camp Verde area and by the early 1990's,
owned the land now known as Prescott Valley and formed
the Fain Land & Cattle Company. In 1966, Prescott Valley
was founded and incorporated 12 years later. Population
has grown from a mere 600 in the early 70's to over
16,000 today
Prescott Valley is one of the fastest growing,
vibrant, and diverse communities in Central Arizona.
Located just 80 miles north of Phoenix, Prescott Valley
is located in the center of many of Arizona's beautiful
natural and cultural attractions and is a short drive to
nearby cities such as, Prescott, Jerome, Sedona,
Cottonwood, and Flagstaff.
The last 6 years have ushered in many wonderful changes
to Prescott Valley including the addition of the new
Prescott Valley Entertainment District, new restaurants,
a new hotel, new businesses, a new hospital, and
transportation improvements. Most noticeable is the
addition of Tim's Toyota Center, a 134,800 sq ft, 5000+
seat arena hosting Arizona Sundog hockey along with a
wide variety concerts and events.
Surrounded by national forests, famous towns, ancient
pueblos, and historic sites, Prescott Valley is an
affordable alternative as your home base for exploring
Central Arizona. Shopping, tours, golf, hiking, and
hunting are all close by.
In addition, the Grand Canyon and the Mogollon Rim are
under three hours away.
Arizona Sundogs Hockey Club
Located at the Tim’s Toyota Center, the Arizona Sundogs
Hockey Club is the hottest sporting attraction in town.

Arcosanti is architect's Paolo Soleri's vision of urban
utopia. the completed project, located in Cordes
Junction, will house an artistic community with living

Verde Canyon Railroad
Located in historic Clarkdale, this railroad offers a
scenic ride through the North Verde River Canyon and the
Sycamore Wilderness area located near Sedona. Sunset
